'My married lover lied he would divorce his wife to marry me'

Temi thought Dayo was sincere when he told her he would divorce his wife to marry her only to learn that he was taking her for a fool.

A depressed lady

My anger is that a man who promised me heaven and earth, who had vowed to divorce his wife and marry me has once again proven that all men are descendants of the devil.

I met four years ago at a funeral party and after being on my neck for several months, I decided to give him a chance.

Before I met Dayo, I was not in a serious relationship after the father of my child dumped me and got married to another woman behind my back.

Before him, I had had several heartbreaks but I always gave myself another chance at love and when I met Dayo, I thought God had brought the right man for me.

Even though he had told me he was married, I fell in love with him because he proved to be very caring, doting and very thoughtful. Dayo took my daughter as his own and played the role of a father to her.

He took up the payment of her school fees and my house rent, gave me money to restock my shop and made me feel so much love and practically took away the pains I had been feeling for many years.

But the problem I had with him was the fact that he never mentioned anything about marrying me and that got me worried. I was ready and willing to be his second wife, even if he did not take me to his house.

I was comfortable staying on my own but being married to him. So after the second year together, I opened up and told him I was not getting any younger and he should do the right thing.

I told him I did not mind being his second wife but Dayo told me he was not comfortable with the idea of marrying two wives but that he has been having problems with his wife and was planning to divorce her and marry me.

Though I did not like the idea of Dayo divorcing his wife because of me, he kept promising that he would soon file for a divorce and once the papers are ready, we would get married.

But I started having a funny feeling when I took in and Dayo insisted I must get rid of the baby which I reluctantly did.

But I got to realize that Dayo had been deceiving me when I learned that his wife had recently put to bed and that plans were on the way for an elaborate party to celebrate the new baby.

When he came to my house and I confronted him with what I had heard, he apologized and said he did not know when his wife got pregnant. I was mad and asked him whey he insisted I should abort my own baby.

I was not ready for his lies because it had dawned on me he was taking me for a fool and told him to get out of my house and my life.

It is now a month since the incident and Dayo has been begging me to allow him back into my life but I have vowed that it would be the last thing I would do as I don't want to get hurt again.
