'My husband has impregnated my younger sister'

When came to stay with us, I was so happy because I was getting tired of the housework, waking up at 5 am to prepare the children for school, making food for the family, rushing to work and when I came back, it was work till late before going to bed.

I knew that with Bridget around, there would be someone to help out with the house chores, so I welcomed her with open hands. My children too were very happy to have their aunt around as they took to her immediately.

Bridget had the time I never had for them, taking them to watch movies, the eateries, and parks during the weekends.

My husband too was relieved that there was someone around to stay with the kids when they came back from school and was full of praises for Bridget. He would buy her things whenever he traveled and gave her pocket money every week.

I thought Alfred was just being the dutiful and loving brother-in-law until I began to notice there was more to it than met the eyes. At first, I did not notice that they were more comfortable in each other's company till I realized that Alfred spent more time with Bridget than he did with me.

he found excuses to take her out and when I questioned his sudden affection for her, he waved my fears aside by saying he was only making her comfortable because of the way she took care of our kids.

The veil was lifted off my eyes when one of our neighbours told me to watch my sister around my husband closely, saying she suspected something .

She told me that my husband would come home during work and stay with Bridget for hours or they would drive out and he would only bring her back when it was time for the kids to come back from school.

But I did not take the woman seriously at first but I decided to monitor the two more closely. I began keeping tabs on them and the scales were lifted off my eyes when I saw a text message Bridget sent to my husband that she had missed her period and that a doctor she had gone to told her it would be dangerous for her to have another abortion.

I probed further and saw other text messages they had been exchanging, with my husband telling my sister he loved her so much and would not want to lose her.

I waited till late at night and confronted my husband and he confessed that Bridget actually seduced him. I also confronted my sister and she also broke down and told me she had been sleeping with my husband shortly after she came to stay with us.

Now the problem is the pregnancy. Our family wants us to keep the whole thing a secret while we look for a way out of the quagmire. I have packed out of Alfred's house and I do not intend to go back despite sending people to beg me to forgive him.

I am so angry at the moment and often wonder what I did not do for my husband to decide to sleep with my own sister.
