Mother From Hell Woman arrested for allegedly killing her baby

A woman in Plateau State has been arrested for allegedly killing her own child because the father is a married man.

A 28-year-old woman identified as Plangnan, has been arrested by the police in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, for allegedly killing her own baby by suffocating the new born with clothes and hiding her in a pot, reports Plateau Today.

It was gathered that the ugly incident which happened in Panyam town, about 10 kilometers from Mangu, has thrown the quiet town into great shock as people have been trooping from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the killer.

Plangnan who is a widow, according to reports, had been having an affair with another married man in the town after shortly after her husband's death which resulted in the pregnancy which she successfully hid till she gave birth to the baby girl all by herself and decided to kill her shortly after delivery.

A source in the town narrated how the sordid act was discovered:

“After dropping the baby in the big pot, Plang went to the backyard of the family house and hid it before proceeding to the farm.

But unfortunately for her, curious children who were playing around the backyard, picked the pot to play with only to discover the dead baby inside and quickly raised an alarm."

The Divisional Police Officer for Mangu Division, Williams Nkarang, has confirmed the incident, saying that the suspect had been arrested and would be prosecuted when she regains her health and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

“We got wind of the sad and unfortunate incident and arrested the woman only to discover that she was bleeding from the delivery.

When she is well, she would be transferred to the state CID in Jos for further investigation.

She has told us about the man who impregnated her and we shall also take him into custody for questioning,” the DPO said.
