How would you view a situation where your husband wants to marry your best friend as a second wife?

"Dear Pulse,

My name is Maryam from Kano State though I live with my husband, Salisu, in Abuja. We got married about three years ago and I must say he has been the kind of man any woman would love to have. He is very loving, kind, generous and always ready to bend backwards to help others.

But that trait in him is what is gradually tearing us apart because he is bent on getting married to my childhood friend, Altine.

We have been close friends since we were kids and we went to the same schools together and graduated in the same year. But she got married immediately we finished our youth service, about five years ago. But her husband died barely a year later, leaving her with a daughter to take care of.

In the past one year, she has been practically living with us and though I never suspected she had anything to do with my husband, I was shocked when, two months ago, he told me that he had concluded plans to make her his second wife. I was taken by surprised when I further realised that they had gone far with the arrangements and a date had even been fixed before he told me.

I have confronted Altine but she told me she has accepted to As a Muslim, I know my husband is at liberty to marry more than one wife but must it be my friend?

I am confused and I want your fans to advice me before I do anything stupid.
