Should A Wife Killer Be Spared?

In June, 2011, a jobless husband, Akolade Arowolo was arrested on the suspicion of stabbing his wife, Titilayo, a banker who was the bread winner of the family, to death.

The court heard that he stabbed the woman 79 times though Akolade has always insisted that she actually stabbed herself to death.

After almost three years of legal wrangling, Akolade was sentenced to death but many are of the opinion that he should be spared so as not to make the little girl the marriage produced an orphan, while others think he should be hanged for the crime.

On Morning Teaser today, we ask: should the alleged wife killer be hanged or spared, taking into consideration the poor child that will be left alone with no parent to care for her?
