Is polygamy really wrong?

There has been a lot of debate concerning polygamy with many seeing it as a sin while others, especially people from the Islamic faith and traditional believers, saying there is nothing wrong about it.

For some people, especially the Christians, marrying more than one wife is a very big sin in the sight of God and they all have Biblical portions to back up their points.

But for the Muslims, polygamy is allowed though there are certain conditions such that it will be convenient for all.

For one, the first wife must give her consent and the man must be able to provide separate quarters for the wives.

Then he must be able to take care of them and treat them equally. He must be able to do justice to all the wives.

What most people argue is that it is not possible for a man to love and treat more than one woman equally, hence the need to stick to one woman.

Even in the Old Testament in the Bible, there were men who got married to more than one wife and they still lived in harmony, though some Christians think that era was eradicated by Jesus Christ.

The traditional believers, on the other hand, do not see anything wrong in a man marrying more than one wife and this issue has raised a lot of talking points that on Morning Teaser today, we ask: is there anything really wrong in polygamy?
