'An older woman is threatening my marriage'

What would you do if a sugar mummy is threatening your impending wedding?

What would you say to this confused man? (Illustration)

For starters, I am not a chronic womanizer like many may think but my friends actually did the match making with the woman who is now turning into a nightmare for me. It was at a party that a sugar mummy threw for , one of my best friends sometime last year.

At the party, I found out that most of the women there were older, and when I asked Pat, he said he and some of the other guys were dating the women for the money and comfort they got. he regaled me on the advantages they got from the women from unlimited cash to cars, overseas trips and every imaginable comfort.

At the end of the day, they introduced me to , a 52-year-old woman who had come to the party alone and I got to realise that she had actually come hoping to get a sugar boy who turned out to be me.

Right from the start, I knew nothing would come out of the relationship apart from the sex. Glory, I was to realise, had been married four times to rich men and always found a way to get money from them anytime she got a divorce, and as such, had loads of cash.

She lives mostly in Abuja and it became a ritual for me to travel to the Federal Capital almost every weekend and if I did not have the opportunity, she would fly down to Lagos. She was insatiable in bed and with time, my fiancée, , became worried with my frequent travels and disappearance every other weekend. This put a strain in our relationship so much that I almost lost her.

So I had to act fast by holding our introduction and the date for the wedding fixed. I wouldn't know how Glory got to know but the first sign of trouble came when she summoned me to Abuja and told me in clear terms that the wedding would not hold.

She vowed that as long as she wants me, I would not have anything to do with another woman. I told her that I saw no future for us especially with the fact that she had grown up children and as  young man, I wanted to settle down but she would have none of that.

Since then, she has been making life difficult for me and Cathy. She even went to the extent of calling her and threatening that she would harm Cathy if she does not leave me alone. I have tried all I could to get her to understand that I want out of the relationship but she has not bulged. She has the right connections to carry out the threats she has been making and I wonder how I got myself into this mess.
