Workers at the fertility clinic are reported to have initially been sceptical about offering Dajinder Kaur, treatment until medical reports had proved that she was a suitable candidate.

Anurag Bishnoi, who is in charge of the fertility clinic, said:

"I first tried to avoid the case because she was very weak, but then her medical reports were normal and she was fit to conceive."

The reports reveal that this is the second case at the centre where a woman in her seventies has delivered successfully following IVF treatments.
