Man bags 3 months imprisonment for illegal possession of cannabis sativa
The defendant, who resides at City College, Mararaba, is facing a two- count charge of criminal trespass and illegal possession of cannabis sativa.
The judge, Ibrahim Shekarau, said that he convicted Abdulwahab based on evidence before the court and his plea.
The judge, however, gave the convict an option of N3,000 fine and warned him to desist from committing crime.
He admitted committing the crime and pleaded for mercyThe prosecutor, Sgt. Steve Kwaza, had told the court that the convict committed the offence on June 15 at about 10.30 a.m.
He said that the convict was caught smoking Indian hemp in an uncompleted building, belonging to one Mr Chukwuma Nwafor of Sharp Corner, Mararaba.
The prosecutor also said that the offence contravened Section 348 of the Penal Code.
