What could have killed these four women a week after the husband of one of them died in mysterious circumstances?
It is still a mystery for residents of Olisa Onyeka Crescent near the Commissioner's Quarters in Awak GRA, Anambra State, when lifeless bodies of four women were discovered in a room on Wednesday, September 9.
One of the deceased women was identified as Mrs Chinwe Obi, an electoral officer serving with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Onitsha South Local Government Area of the state.
To compound the mysterious deaths, the three other women had come to the house to commiserate with Obi over the death of her husband who just returned from Cotonou, Benin Republic, a week earlier and had died in the same house.
The dead women were found with their bibles still in their hands.
The state Police Commissioner, Hosea Karma said the police has commenced investigations into the circumstances of the death of the women, ruling out murder since there were no bruises on their bodies to suggest such.
Karma said the bodies of the women have been deposited at the state mortuary while investigations into the matter is ongoing.
