A 41-year-old woman, Okome Obasare, has urged an Igando Customary Court sitting in Lagos State, to annul her 14-year-old marriage to her 59-year-old husband, Ese, on the grounds of sexual starvation.

Okome, a Sales Manager, told the court that her husband has not slept with her for over three years while he keeps mistresses outside their home as well as bringing women to sleep with in their matrimonial home.

"My husband is dating our church woman leader and he always brings her home to pass the night. When he chased me out of his house in 2013, that very day the woman packed in.

After evicting me from the house, he told my children that I was dead that they will never see me again," a tearful Okome told the court.

Aside neglecting her, Okome also narrated how she lost two pregnancies due to beatings she received from her husband and father of three children.

"My husband always beat me with wire and on two occasions, I bled and lost my pregnancies and after that, he gave me money for Dilation and Curettage (D and C).

He stops me from working and locks me inside the house and he will not allow me to go out, he beats me anytime he sees me outside or a visitor comes to visit me."

But her husband denied all the allegations, adding that his wife is a pathological liar and did not lose any pregnancy. He also denied chasing her put his house as she left on her own.

"My wife did not lose any pregnancy; she always gives birth to a baby anytime she is pregnant. My wife is very stubborn and always disobeys my orders; she is disrespectful and goes out at will and come back at will," he said.

After listening to both parties, the President of the court, Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case till May 24 for judgment.
