The Pretoria police are on the lookout for a 43 year old man who shot his girlfriend near Kloofsig railway station in Lyttelton.

Warrant officer, Hero Gumbu who happens to be the police spokesperson for this case said that the murder was due to domestic violence according to reports by the dead lady’s friend who was an eye witness.

The couple had a misunderstanding on Monday evening which led her to take off and spend the night at her friend’s place located in Mamelodia.

Her shoot-and-run boyfriend was already waiting for her at the railway station as early as 7:00am, as he already knew that it was her regular route to work.

Little did she know that she had arrived to her death when she got to the railway station with her friend.  Not long after her arrival, another argument ensued between the couple before the man shot and killed her on the spot.

The police say eight bullet shells were discovered at the site of the unfortunate occurrence. They suspect the man is still with the 9mm pistol and might have run off to the Groenkloof Nature Reserve.

Domestic violence is a matter that needs to be looked into as new occurrences keep taking place day by day.
