A suspected armed robber has been lynched to death by an angry mob in Lagos.

It was the end of the road for a suspected armed robber who was lynched to death by an angry mob at Anike Apena Street, Ikeja, Lagos State, in the early hours of today, April 8.

Accordding to eyewitnesses, the victim and another of his gang members had stormed the area very early in the morning on a motorcycle and were robbing residents and passers-by of their valuables when some residents mobilized and went after them.

The suspects reportedly shot into the air to scare the crowd but the people surged in and grabbed one of them while the other managed to escape.

The unfortunate victim was given the beating of his life and before the police could get to the scene, he was already dead.

But is it right for people to take the laws into their hands and lynch suspects?
