Two suspected motorcycle thieves were given instant justice in Bauchi.
It was the end of the road for two suspected armed robbery suspects as they were given instant jungle justice by a mob in Bauchi State as they were beaten to death after they allegedly attempted to snatch a motorcycle from a commercial cyclist, reports Daily Trust.
The suspects were nabbed along Maiduguri road in the Bauchi metropolis, and the angry took the laws into their hands and beat them to a state of coma from which they did not recover.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, said the suspects allegedly stabbed a motorcycle rider while trying to snatch his motorcycle.
“The incident attracted the attention of passers-by and an angry mob beat the suspects to a state of coma.
Police detectives attached to Housing Estate Division visited the scene and rushed the casualties to hospital where they died while receiving treatment."
Mohammed gave the names of the dead suspects as Haruna Abdullahi and Burhanudeen Usman, who were residents of Tilden Fulani in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
