Police uncover brothel run by Nigerian
The Hawks have successfully rescued 26 females from a brothel in South Africa run by a Nigerian.
The Hawks stormed the brothel on Friday, December 16th, 2016, in Klerksdorp following a tip-off alleging that the premises are being used as a brothel run by Nigerians, LIB reports.
The females are reportedly South Africans amongst others from different parts of the country including; Northern Cape, KZN, Free state, Johannesburg and Eastern Cape.
According to the reports, a total of 18 South African men and one Nigerian man were found on the premises and are currently being interrogated. Hawks spokesperson, Tlangelani Rikhotso explained that possible charges of human trafficking would be brought in connection with the bust.
"Currently no one has been arrested. We are just trying to establish what was happening in that house and also we can't rule out the fact that this could be a case of human trafficking." said Rikhotso.
The photos from the bust show the young girls rescued in the bust amongst the owners and other clients.
