Teacher docked for sexually abusing 6-yr-old pupil
A 25-year-old teacher with a primary school in Lagos has been arraigned in a court for allegedly raping a six-year-old pupil.
Chukwu, a resident of Kojola, Ojodu-Berger area of the state, according to the prosecutor, Lucky Ihejie, was arraigned on a two-count charge of attempt to commit rape and sexual assault by penetration.
Ihiehie had told the court that the mother of the victim came to the Ketu Police Station in company with the victim to report the incident, claiming that the accused had been defiling her daughter since June 2016.
Ihejie added that the complainant came with a referral letter from Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Team (LDSVT) at Alausa.
“The complainant said that her daughter came back home on that fateful day complaining of pains in her private part.
When the mother asked her if anyone touched her there, she said the accused called her into the fine arts room after the close of school and told her to remove her pant.
She said the girl told her that the accused has been doing that to her and then he would bring out his manhood and rub it on her private part and then clean her up afterward,” Ihejie said.
When the charges were read to Chukwu, he pleaded not guilty and his counsel, Stanley Ughe, prayed the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms, emphasising that he has been a teacher in the school located at Omole phase 2, Ogba, for about 10 years and had never been associated with such an incident.
