Domestic help arraigned in court for stealing N3m worth of jewelries
The police are on a hunt for accomplices of the house help, who are currently on the run following the arrest of Vitawan.
According to the Daily Post News, the accused committed the offence with her accomplices on September 2, 2016 at No. 307, Banana Island, Lagos.
She is being charged with two counts of conspiracy and stealing, crimes she has pleaded not guilty to.
Stating the offences, Inspector Daniel Ighodalo said the accused fled with 18 pieces of gold watches, 15 pieces of gold rings, 10 sets of gold necklace and earrings and 10 costume beads, all valued at N3 million belonging to her employer.
He mentioned that the crimes contravenes Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
Abimbola Awogboro, the Chief Magistrate on the case granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
For further deliberation, the case has been adjourned till November 9, 2016.
