The Rivers State Polce Command reports that it has arrested two members of the deadly gang that murdered the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), of Rumuokoro Police Division, CSP Cliff Igwegbe, some weeks ago, while four suspected kidnappers were killed during a shootout with the police.

According to the report on the Facebook page of the command, Igwegbe and his team were on a mission to confront some robbers who had stolen a vehicle belonging to the lawmaker representing Emohua State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Those arrested were Prince Essien, 30, and Hosanna Nse, 23, during a shootout with members of the gang at their hideout in Ada George, Port Harcourt, while the alleged leader of the gang identified as Clever Idaminabor, was said to have been shot dead during the gun battle.

The state Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, confirmed the arrest, adding that the two suspects have confessed to being the ones that killed CSP Igwegbe while two AK-47 rifles, one assault rifle, 119 rounds of live ammunition and seven magazines, were recovered from them.
