Operatives of the Kwara State Police Command have arrested six suspects in the brutal murder of a widow in her rice farm on November 23, 2016, New Telegraph reports.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Olusola Amore, announced the arrest of the suspects who allegedly murdered the woman, Florence Ede, before carting away 12 bags of rice and a huge amount of money she wanted to use in paying her workers.

CP Amore said the suspects arrested are Kofi Kawku, Ali Dauda, Gomina Umaru, Ali Sabi, Abubarka Basira and Ayuba Adamu, for allegedly matcheting the victim to death inside her farm at Yashikira in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

Amore added that the suspects were labourers employed by the deceased and they conspired and killed her and carted away bags of rice.

The Commissioner also disclosed that the suspects were later arrested by the police while the stolen rice belonging to the victim and the Golf car used in carrying the commodity were recovered.
