Man bags 2 years imprisonment for stealing rice

Magistrate Olusola Aluko convicted and sentenced Aliyu in Osogbo, following his guilty plea.

The prosecutor, SP Mireti Wilson, had told the court that Aliyu stole 10 bowls of rice and four bottles of wine at 2.00a.m. on Oct. 29, at Oke – Ayepe in Osogbo.

Wilson said that the convict broke into the shop of Mrs Comfort Oke and carted away the commodities.

He said that Aliyu was apprehended by security guards, who handed him over to the police.

The prosecutor said that the offences were punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.
