Three men were on Wednesday arraigned in an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State, for allegedly stealing eight tipper loads of sand valued at N32,000.

The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the accused persons, on June 16 about 1:30 p.m. at Setraco, along Okitipupa-Igbokada Road, conspired to commit the offence.
The suspects- Linus Odey,28; Jacob Awoniyi,47, and Isiola Akinbobola, 58,are facing a two-count-charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the accused persons, on June 16 about 1:30 p.m. at Setraco, along Okitipupa-Igbokada Road, conspired to commit the offence.
Orogbemi said that the stolen eight tipper loads of sand belong to Igbokoda community. The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006. The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge levelled against them.
The Magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N50,000 each, and a surety each in like sum. He adjourned the case till Sept. 7 for further hearing.
