A factory worker, Kazeem Adebayo, who allegedly defiled his neighbour’s four-year-old daughter, was on Tuesday docked at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.

Adebayo, 27, who resides at Olorunlomoeyanre area of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, is facing a charge of defilement.

The prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 6 at his residence.
Inuoha said that the victim, a four-year-old girl, was left in the custody of the accused by her mother.

“On the return of the victim’s mother, she saw blood stain on her daughter’s pant and what the girl could say was “Uncle.”

“It was in the hospital that the mother got the clear picture that her daughter had been defiled,” he said.

He said that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The chief magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi, granted the accused N300,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to Feb. 9 for mention.
