Security man docked for allegedly damaging car worth N3m

The accused is facing a two-count charge of dangerous driving and driving without a licence.

Ishi, a resident of No. 3, Oloko St., Sangotedo, Ajah, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of dangerous driving and driving without a licence.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Oladejo Balogun, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 25, at 5.25 p.m., at Jeremiah Street, Lekki Phase 1, Eti-Osa LGA, Lagos.

He said that the accused drove one Toyota Siena car with registration No. LAGOS AAA 831 DE in a public highway without a driver’s licence.

Balogun also said that the accused drove the said vehicle on the highway dangerously and damaged the vehicle which is valued at N3 million.

He said the vehicle belonged to one Mr Emmanuel Uti.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 7 (1) and 20 of the Road Traffic Law of Lagos, 2012.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mr N. A. Layeni, granted the accused N100, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

He said the sureties must be working in a reputable organisation, must be blood relation of the accused and their addresses verified

He adjourned the case till Dec. 22 for mention.
