Ajiboye Kehinde, 39, has been arraigned before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court by the State Police Command for allegedly defrauding a photography company in Lagos State.
Man, 39, arraigned of fraud charges
A man in Lagos was arraigned before a Magistrate Court for defrauding a photography company.
The defendant allegedly issued the company a cheque of N1.6m in November, 2014, which bounced due to lack of sufficient funds.
The defendant was subsequently arrested and arraigned on Wednesday on two counts.
The charges read in part:
“That you, Ajiboye Kehinde, on November 10, 2014, on Lateef Sofowora Street, Gbagada, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, with intent to defraud did knowingly issue a Zenith Bank cheque leaf, with no. 91987732, dated November 10, 2014, for the sum of N1,650, 000 in favour of one Fotoklinic Nigeria Limited and the cheque was dishonoured as a result of lack of sufficient fund, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 313 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.”
the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The defence counsel, Mr. Spurgeon Ataene and Mrs. Imelda Adebambo, asked for the bail of the defendant in liberal terms.
The Chief Magistrate, O.O. Olatunji, admitted him to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.
