The camel which had been tied just outside its owner, Urjaram's home in the heat all day long while he had entertained guests in his home, mauled him to death when he had finally remembered the animal and attempted to untie it.

The incident is reported to have taken place in Barmer in Rajasthan on Saturday, May 21, 2016, as the reports reveal that it had taken 25 villagers an alleged six hours to calm the upset animal.

The Times of India reports that Urjaram, had suddenly remembered the camel after a long time, going out to untie the animal when it had attacked him, grabbing him by the neck and slamming him on the ground.

An eyewitness revealed to TOI that the camel had reportedly chewed the owner’s body, severing his head in the process.

The eyewitness identified as Thakara Ram said:

"The animal lifted him by the neck and threw him on to the ground, chewed the body and severed the head."
