Refugee rapes 79-yr-old grandma in cemetery

Eritrean refugee has been arrested following allegations of raping a 79-year-old grandmother.

The septuagenarian was reportedly attacked while visiting the grave of her sister located in Ibbenbueren, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

The 40-year-old suspect, who according to reports, has lived in Germany since 2013, has now been charged with rape following his arrest.

The reports reveal that a witness had called the police after the elderly woman was heard crying for help at about 6 am that fateful morning.

The victim whose identity has been withheld was reportedly given medical treatment and discharged from the hospital yesterday, July 26.

The suspect who has reportedly been living in a hostel for asylum seekers prior to his arrest, is said to be facing up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
