News reports have revealed the unfortunate incident that led to the death of a woman at the hands of her husband over infidelity accusations.

The suspect identified as James Uguru, has allegedly beat his wife, Jacinta to death after she had tried to stop him from chasing down her alleged lover.

The incident took place in Ndubia Inyimaegu community in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, ASP George Okafor, revealed that the Lagos-based James Uguru had been suspicious of his wife infidelity and promiscuity following rumours which had been making the rounds in the community whenever went home to visit his family.

The drama had begun while the couple had been having a discussion in the living room before a phone call caused Uguru to head to the room the phone, with Jacinta trying to stop him.

Vanguard reports that as Jacinta tried to restrain her husband, her alleged lover had run out of thier bedroom, and upon her attempt to keep him from chasing as the culprit, Uguru had taken out his anger on her.

A source revealed to Vanguard:

“He started punching the woman, who eventually collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.”

It was further gathered that that Uguru, while in Lagos, had been having suspicions concerning Jacnta's extra marital affairs with her alleged lover before the incident occured.

Mr Okafor revealed that the suspect has been arrested as efforts were being made to arrest the said lover.
