Daily Post reports that one of the rape victims who has been identified as Cecilia, a student of the Sociology Department, was one of the four girls who had allegedly been forced to surrender themselves to be raped by the suspected cultists.

Some reports recounted the tale that the girls were ambushed and raped on Saturday evening on their way home from a church service while other reports have it that most of the girls had managed to escape after the first round of rape.

Sadly, Cecilia who had been the last, had not been able to escape as the rapists were said to have threatened her with their guns before having their way with her.

A third version of the story has it that the rape victims had actually belonged to a cult group called Ake Confraternity and had not been told that rape was to be part of their initiation rites.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, had in a statement confirmed the situation, saying that policemen had gotten a tip-off and stormed the uncompleted building where a victim was being raped by a member of the gang, and it is also assumes that the other rapes took place there.
