A witness in the neighborhood, who spoke to NAN on condition of anonymity, said the deceased received severe whipping for refusing to go on an errand.

A 15-year-old girl has whipped her seven-year-old sibling to death at Otuagbagi Community in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the incident was preceded by a disagreement between the deceased and his sister over domestic issues.

A Police source in the Ogbia Division of the Nigeria Police, told NAN that the incident occurred on Nov. 9.

The Spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mr Asimin Butswat, however, confirmed the incident.

He said that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the Kolo General Hospital in Ogbia.

NAN reports that the parents of the deceased had been in shock over the development.

The tragedy was said to have occurred after school hours in the absence of the parents.
