Man docked for armed robbery

Ezenwa Emmauel was alleged to have robbed one Mrs Stella Amaze of her money while armed with a gun.

The Prosecutor, Mrs Ndidi Ahamefuna, told the court that the accused committed the offence on the Jan. 19 at 12b Jack Ezeanya Cresent, off Eagle Str., Okwe, Asaba.

She said that the offence was punishable under Section 6(b) and 2(2) (a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act, Cap R11, Vol. 14, Laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The accused plead not guilty, but his plea was not taken by the court.

The Magistrate, Mrs Okonkwo Akanume. ordered that the accused be remanded in Ugwashi-Uku Prison.

She adjourned the case to March 13 for definite hearing (NAN).
