FCT police arrest woman for turning 6 girls to sex slaves
The victims stated that they were lured into the trade after their captor promised they would earn a sum of N100,000 within six months.
She was arrested between June 25 – 26, 2016, with an accomplice identified as Collins Madueke.
According to the Daily Post, their victims, Nancy Azubuike, Amarachi Chinedu, Chidinma Amakwe, Chiamaka Eze, Beauty Ndulue and Blessing John, were hidden in a room.
It took the intervention of a Special Intelligence Response Team from the office of the Inspector General of Police, to rescue the girls.
They have been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other related matters (NAPTIP).
A man, who lived in the neighbourhood where the crime was being committed, said that the girls were fed through a window and were not permitted to go out.
The police however forced the door to the room where they were being held, and discovered them.
“The girls were kept in the room and someone usually brought food for them through the window. When the got there, they forced the door open and discovered that there were six girls.”
According to one of the victims, their captor made N20,000 per day from each girl. It was disclosed that they were tempted into the unjust trade after being promised a sum of N100,000, after six months.
