Adedoyin, who resides at 58 Miracle Avenue, Magboro, Ibafo, allegedly committed the offence on October 18, 2015.

The suspect was immediately handed over to the police in Ibafo.

He was subsequently transferred to Ogun State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, and thereafter charged to court.

The Magistrate, Mrs I.O. Abudu, has ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison.

The mother of the victim, who is a trader, commended the neighbours for rescuing her daughter.

She said, “I was in the church when I received information about the incident and had to rush down to the police station.”

She explained that her daughter was later taken to a private hospital in the town for examination.

She added that a doctor in the hospital insisted on collecting N15, 000 before he would release the result, which would be tendered in the court during further hearing of the case.

She lamented that she could not afford the money and called for assistance from well-meaning Nigerians.

However, the Ogun State chapter of the Child Protection Network said it was aware of the case and was ready to offer the victim the necessary legal assistance, adding that child defilement was becoming rampant in the state.

The Coordinator of the CPN, Mrs. Peju Osoba, while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta, condemned the act and encouraged victims of rape and their families to always speak out.
