Suspected highway petrol tanker hijackers are cooling their feets in police custody for allegedly hijacking a truck loaded with 33,000 litres of petrol along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

two suspects has been docked for allegedly hijacking a truck loaded with 33,000 litres of petrol along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Reports according to Punch says the suspects style of hijacking the product was by blocking the truck with their sports utility vehicle on the road and making away with the truck and its content.
Furthermore in a statement made by the Iperu division of the Ogun State Police Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Ogunjobi confirming the arrest of the hijackers says.
“The suspects hijacked the truck with its content and drove to Okada in Edo State. The police operatives swung into action immediately the report was made at the Iperu division and traced the truck to where it was recovered with the product.
“One of the hijackers, , was arrested with the receiver of the product, , and the suspects have been taken to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and prosecution.”
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali further attested that more effort will be made to battle criminal activities on the Lagos-Ibadan and Lagos-Benin expressways while commended the effort the Iperu division of the Ogun State Police Command for their prompt attention to the call of bringing criminals to book.
