Victor Ilesanmi Moyo, a man who has been parading himself as a military man for years, sometimes going as an army officer and at other times, as air force officer, has finally been nabbed by the Provost group of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Army impersonator arrested after several years
A man who has been parading himself as an army officer for years has been arrested.
Moyo's reign as a fake army officer was brought to an end at the Health Center Bus Stop, Apete area of the city, after he allegedly went to a shop and bought sports attire worth N7,500, and refused to pay the shop owner, claiming to be an army officer but after the shop owner refused to allow him to go with his goods, some passing military personnel were attracted to the scene and after some interrogations, he was found out to be a fake officer.
The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations of the Division, Colonel Timothy Antigha, confirmed the arrest of the impostor, stating that preliminary investigations by the 2 Division Provost Group revealed that the suspect stole the Nigerian Air Force uniform he was using from an Air Force personnel in Lagos State, the same way he got the Nigerian Army uniform, head warmer, military waist belt and a pull over vest which he had been using to harass members of the public.
