In a series of tweets from the official Twitter handle of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the State Police Command which was called in to restore peace to the community, the crisis broke out in the early morning of Monday, April 24, 2017, as the hoodlums took advantage of the situation to set shops on fire before looting them.

According to the RRS, the gangs had reportedly invaded Alamutu Street, from Akala Elegba and looted the shops after chasing the owners away.

After looting the shops, they set them ablaze before moving to the next shop on the street.
