Fulani Herdsmen Cattle rearers on another killing rampage in Delta State

The victim was returning from his farm when he was attacked and killed with a gun. The police are curently looking into the matter according to reports.

Tragedy struck in Ossissa community located in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, as a 45-year-old man, identified as Mr. Nwadei Ikechukwu, has been reportedly killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

According to Punch, Ikechukwu was returning from a farm on his motorcycle when he was shot dead.

Mrs. Priscilia Nwadei, who is the wife of the deceased reportedly went into a coma following the news.

The victims’s brother, Mr. Augustine Nwadie, explained that his brother was shot on Thursday, June 16, 2016.

He said, “My brother was on his way from the farm when he was shot on Thursday morning and killed. At the moment, we are at a loss on the next step to take as we have reported the case to the police.”

The killing is a continuation of the barbarity of the cattle rearers, who have been engaging in frequent attacks on innocent people.

Celestine Kalu, a spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, confirmed the incident. He said the matter is being investigated.
