Court dissolves 9-yr-old marriage over husband's low sex libido

A court in Lagos has dissolved a marriage due to the low sex libido of the husband who could not satisfy his wife in bed.

A Lagos housewife has had her wishes of having her nine year old marriage nullified on the grounds of her husband's inability to perform in bed, describing him as a one-minute-man.

An Igando Customary Court aptly granted the wishes of Ifeanyi Samuel after she dragged her husband, Moses, to the divorce court on account of his poor sexual performance.

The 33-year-old businesswoman told the court that she could no longer bear her sexual dissatisfaction any longer and wanted the marriage to be dissolved so that she could get a capable man to handle her.

The President of the court, Hakeem Oyekan, had no option than to grant the couple's wishes since he was convinced that they could no longer live as man and wife after several interventions by family and the court proved abortive.

Oyekan said:

"The court has no choice than to dissolve the union in spite of the fact that the husband still claims he loves his wife. The couple can no longer stay together because the marriage has broken down totally.

The parties are no longer husband and wife; they are free to go their separate ways."

Earlier, Ifeanyi had told the court:

"My husband cannot perform well, he is not doing his 'job' at all and it makes me sad. My husband does not satisfy me, he does not last a minute on bed.

Apart from that, my husband has low sperm count. I bought drugs prescribed by the doctor for him, but he refused to use them.

His refusal to take the drugs had resulted in fighting because I need a child. We have been married for nine years without any issue."

But 40-year-old Samuel accused the wife of having several extra-marital affairs, though he accepted that his sperm count was low.

"I am trying my best to satisfy my wife and I am also trusting God for a miracle.

My wife has been committing adultery, there was a day I saw a text message she sent to her lover.

I showed her the text, but instead of her to apologise, she warned me not to touch her phone again.

My wife goes out without telling me and comes back at 11.00 p.m. and whenever I query her, she would tell me she owns her life."
