Jacqui Tierney, 51, scattered some of her mother Hilda’s ashes at her favourite spot after she died four years ago, but kept some of her remains in an urn on her mantelpiece as a reminder, Mirror reports.
Woman snorts friend's mother's ashes
A woman was left devastated after one of her friends snorted her mother's ashes at a house party
Her mother had been cremated and her ashes kept in the urn.
But Ms. Tierney is now devastated after a friend told her that someone had snorted the ashes of her mother during a party at her home in Dundee.
She said:
"It is beyond belief that this happened in my own home. She just took the ashes from the top of my unit and started snorting them. My friend witnessed the whole thing and decided I should be told. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. My mum meant the world to me and, apart from anything else, how could someone do something so disrespectful?’
Ms. Tierney said she went to confront the woman after her friend told her what she had seen, but the woman in question – who she suspects was drunk – had left.
The friend said she was ‘shocked and disgusted’ by what she saw.
"We had all been drinking and she just seemed to think it was fun and showing off about it," she lamented.
"It’s worse than jumping on someone’s grave."
