Nigeria's former President, Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, has admitted that he knows where members of the Boko Haram sect are hiding and he has direct access to them and could negotiate with them to release the kidnapped female students of the Government Secondary school Chibok, Borno State.
"I Know Where Boko Haram's Hide Out" - Ex-President Obasanjo
Does former President Olusegun Obasanjo have any ties with the dreaded Boko Haram sect? He says he has access to them and can help to secure the release of the kidnapped girls.
But his only problem is that incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan has not given him the go ahead to do so.
In an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, Obasanjo said that speculations that he is actually working behind the scenes to help secure the release of the girls is not true as he does not have the permission of the president to do so.
Obasanjo regretted the fact that he has not been given the green light to negotiate with the Boko Haram sect and that if he is given the mandate, he will go and meet the gangsters and work for the girls to be released.
The former military head of state stressed that it is possible some of the girls could be impregnated and some of them could die in the process of child birth since there are no medical facilities in the forest where they are being held.
