Deadly armed robbers causing havoc in Enugu arrested, 1 killed

A gang of deadly armed robbers that have been terrorizing Enugu State have been smashed by the police, with two arrested and one of them killed in a shootout.

It was the end of the road for a gang of deadly armed robbers as the gang that have been terrorizing residents of Enugu and other neighbouring states, killing and dispossessing people of their properties in the process, have been arrested by the police in the state, while a member of the gang was shot dead during an exchange of gunfire.

The bandits, according to reports, had attacked residents around Bisalla Road in the commercial city when a distress call was put to the police who arrived at the scene just on time to engage the robbers in a gun battle and at the end of the duel, one of them was gunned down and two arrested alive while others managed to escape with gunshot wounds.

A statement by the State Police Command confirmed the incident, adding that the fleeing robbers would be tracked down and arrested in no time.
