Divorced woman in prison for stabbing neighbour who mocked her status

A jilted woman has been remanded in prison for stabbing a neighbour who mocked her over her status.

The convict, Victoria Akarigbo

PM Express reports that Akarigbo who lives with her parents at 6, Musa Close, Abule Odu, Idimu, a suburb of Lagos State, was sent packing from her husband’s house but the victim always taunted her over the failed marriage, leading to an altercation with the accused using a broken bottle to stab her.

It was gathered that Akarigbo had a serious disagreement with her husband and she was sent away with her three children and she had nowhere to go apart from her parents’ house but her stay there was often seen as degrading by Favour who always made a mockery of her, by calling her an irresponsible woman.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Shonubi however, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum but ordered that she be remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition while the matter was adjourned till December 14, 2016, for hearing.
