An electrician has been sentenced to one month imprisonment by an Abuja Magistrate Court for stealing offering money totalling N6,440, and other valuable items including one ‘32’ LG TV, one speaker, one decoder, one dish, and two remote controls.

Edward, according to the prosecutor, Kelechi Echendu, had broken into the church located at Dutse Makaranta, Bwari Area Council of the FCT, by damaging a slide window and stole the items.

Echendu told the court that the pastor of the church, Timothy Booge, had, on May 14, complained at Dutsen Alhaji Police Station of how the accused broke into the Deeper Life Bible Church auditorium located at Jabu village in Dutse Makaranta and stole their money and items.

Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Chukwuemeka Nweke sentenced Edward to one month imprisonment without an option of a fine after he pleaded guilty to the charges of criminal trespass, house breaking and theft.
