A 57-year-old Lagos based man, Ikechukwu Anajekwu, has been arrested by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, for allegedly beating his 40-year-old wife, Obiageli, to death because she came home late from an outing.
Angry husband beats wife to death for coming home late
An angry man who beat his wife to death because she came back home late has been docked in Lagos.
A man has been charged to court for murdering his wife.
The incident happened at the couples' 7, Okoye Close, Agbaroko, in Iba area of the state.
According to reports, trouble brewed its ugly head for the couple on the fateful day when Anajekwu returned from work around 7 pm and his wife was no where to be found and no one could tell her whereabouts.
When the woman came back home at about 10 pm, the angry husband was not ready to take her excuse of a traffic jam on the way and descended on her, beating her blue black till she collapsed and became unconscious.

Apparently sober and realising what he had done, the Anajekwu rushed her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Neighbours who witnessed what happened reported the matter to the police and Anajekwu was arrested and charged for murder at the Iba Police State from where the case was transferred to the SCID for further investigation.
