Two murder suspects, Segun Adeyemo and Gboye Babaniwura, have been sentenced to death by hanging by an Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ikole Ekiti, after they were found guilty of killing two men whose names were given as Yeti Abubakar and Sikiru Ahmadu, at the premises of the police station in Iluomoba Ekiti on September 13, 2011, Daily Post reports.

State counsel, Femi Onipede, explained to the court that on the said date, the accused persons murdered the victims by hitting them with axes on their foreheads, an offence which contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 30 Vol. II Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria as applicable in Ekiti State.

In handing down the death verdict, the Judge, Justice Abiodun Adesodun, reasoned that the prosecution had proved its case of murder preferred against them beyond reasonable doubt.
