Mother arrested after taking along 3 kids during burglary

A mother who took her little kids with her on a burglary spree has been arrested.

A 35-year-old Colorado, USA woman, Melanie Romero, according to Huffington Post, is one of the dumbest criminals in history after she was arrested when she went on a burglary spree with her three young children in tow.

She will now face child abuse charges aside the theft and burglary charges hanging on her neck.

Romero was caught in the home of a retired police officer, Kim Steffen-Brauch, who reported the incident to the local police department.

Steffen-Brauch who said she always has a gun close by, drew it out and was on the verge of blasting the intruder when she saw the little kids looking on in awe when the mother led them into her bedroom.

“I felt this presence, almost like I could hear footsteps going across my living room.

That's when I asked her, 'What the 'blank' are you doing in my house? Put your hands up. Let me see your hands’.”

Steffen-Brauch escorted the woman back to the living room, before calling the police.

“Unless you're desperate, you don't get your kids involved - you just don’t.

It just didn't make sense, and I had a lot of red flags from my previous experience that said, 'Don't let her go.”
