Man remanded in prison for aborting girlfriend’s pregnancy
A man who secured an abortion for his teenage lover leading to her death has been remanded in prison.

It was gathered that Olorunfemi had connived with Akeem to trick his girlfriend, 18-year-old Funbi Taiwo, who later died in the process, into getting the abortion when he realized she had become pregnant for him on May, 25, at Ilawe-Ekiti in Ekiti South-West Local Government Area of the state.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Caleb Leranmo, alleged that the accused, who was the boyfriend of the late teenager, and Akeem, unlawfully murdered Taiwo through an illegal abortion.
According to Leramo, the accused committed the offence contrary to Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16,Laws of Ekiti state 2012.
The plea of the accused were not taken as their counsel, Tunde Olayemi, sought for a date of adjournment pending the advice of DPP legal advice.
Magistrate Ropo Adegboye, consequently ordered the remand of the duo in Prison custody till the outcome of DPP advice, while adjourning the case to June 22 for further hearing.
