Rivers State CP warns DPOs to secure their territory or face dismissal

The state police commissioner, charged the DPOs to step up their effort towards battling cultism, which has claimed many lives in the region.

Cultism has become a major headache for Nigerian security forces

The warning was given amidst widespread killings by cultists in the state, which is far becoming a sort of a plague.

Adebanjo told the DPOs to be ready to work late in the night in order to ensure safety in the communities they are serving.

He also stated that despite the brutality of the cultists, the Rivers State Police Command is ready to do great damage in retaliation.

The commission also sent out a stern warning to the murder perpetrators in the state, informing them that his command would no longer tolerate their actions.

“The DPOs must secure their areas and they must be ready to work even at night,” Adebanjo said.
