Coca-Cola «Open & Win» Promo- Roadside Tailor Wins N1m!

Omolola Kolawole, a 31 year old roadside Tailor has been given the keys to a better life as she bags one million naira in the ongoing Coca-Cola «Open & Win» promo. The cheque presentation ceremony was held on April 4th, 2012, at the Nigerian Bottling Company Plant, Ikeja. In attendance were family members, the media and officials of the Lagos State Lottery Board.

Receiving the one million naira cheque in high sprints, Kolawole whose roadside shop was demolished due to a recent road expansion kissed her cheque, thanked Coca-Cola for running the promo and expressed the joy and optimism of a new beginning at a time when she felt all hope was lost.

The young lady went through hard times when the shop and everything she had laboured for years to build were destroyed. «I thought my world had ended and my life was shattered. I lived from hand to mouth and at that point I wept and wondered if this was how my life was going to be forever. I totally lost hope in life.” Kolawole recounted.

Portraying the true Nigerian sprit of perseverance, Kolawole began another trade - selling fuel in jerry cans, hoping to generate enough to revive the business she had lost. Yearning for a bottle of Coke, she would leave her makeshift stand, and stop by the next kiosk to buy a bottle of Coke. Kolawole noticed the new white crown corks and decided to participate in the promo. The more she drank, the more she sent in entries to the short code, 33665. To her surprise, some weeks later, she got a call from a staff of Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited, informing her of the winnings. She plans to use her cash prize winnings to rent a shop and help uplift her family’s standard of living.
