It is a happy end for Onyinyechi

On Friday, December 11, Pulse brought you the pathetic story of a nine-year-old housemaid identified as Onyinyechi Nkerem, who was seriously brutalised by her aunt, Chioma Okereke,  to the extent that she had her head broken, with scars and bite marks all over her body.

The good news is that the young girl has been reunited with her parents in her village, Umunoha Community in Mbaitoli Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, after a Human Rights group, Project Alert headed by Mrs  Josephine Effah-Chukwuma, waded into the disturbing case and sent its coordinator in Owerri, the state capital, Chinedu Ifeanyi Anyanwu, to rescue the girl and made sure she was united with her parents.

The good Samaritan that first brought the case to public knowledge and had been following its development, wrote this:

''The latest on the issue, according to reports from Mr Ifeanyi Anyanwu of Project Alert, is that Onyinyechi has been reunited with her parents. Mr Ifeanyi went to the house  and requested that the girl be taken back to her parents and the husband of the woman, Obinna Okereke,  took him to Onyinye's village and upon getting there, the villagers wanted to beat Okereke up but after much pleading by Mr. Ifeanyi, they requested that the wicked aunt  be brought to the village for questioning.

Onyinye's parents said that they didnt want the case to go further as they are related to the Mr. Okereke and have received their daughter.

She is currently receiving treatments at a hospital which was not disclosed. "
