Leading digital music distributor, Spinlet.com celebrates two of Nigeria's music giants; 2Face Idibia and Victor Olaiya in an all new television commercial
Demonstrating that it means business and that music knows no boundaries, be it age, emotion or geography, digital distribution platform Spinlet.com, has launched its first television commercial.
Shot by acclaimed Nigerian director, Kunle Afolayan (Phone Swap, The Figurine & October 1), the TVC stars Afrobeat legend Dr Victor Olaiya and hip hop megastar, TuFace Idibia, who released their collaborative single in July 2013. This marks Afolayan’s debut into commercial filmography which according to Spinlet’s Chief Marketing Officer, Mark Redguard; “he has executed with remarkable clarity, accurately conveying the message that digital technology allows registered users of any age, the borderless ability to access their favourite music from millions of tracks, anywhere and anytime and on multiple devices.”
Kunle was invited to the project on the back of the success of the hit music video – Baby Jowo (Baby Mi Da) remix with 2face Idibia. The TVC clearly depicts and confirms that the 83 year old Olaiya, is still pioneering new ground with his music and endorses the octogenarian’s viewpoint that there is a viable future for digital music.
From the warmth and playful banter which exists between the leading stars, 2Face and Victor Olaiya to the fine blend of the old and the modern (as depicted by 2Face who is seen downloading music on Spinlet.com), the commercial ultimately encourages the viewer to go and discover for themselves the new world of creative listening that digital can provide.
